This is a neighborhood project!

There are only -89 days left until Halloween! We hope to get a couple thousand kids trick-or-treating in our neighborhood this year. That means we can use all the help we can get. If you live in our neighborhood, the one outlined on the map below, it means you've been chosen to be a part of The French Valley Monster Hunt of 2019. It means that this year you will have more kids knocking on your door than ever before. It means that you have a chance to experience the Halloween you remember as a kid. But mostly, it means that you probably don't have enough candy!

We are Jeremy and Alyssa at 34648 Chinaberry. We would love to hear from you if you have some great ideas you want to share or want to get involved in some way.

If you are going to be handing out candy this October 31st, there are a few things you can do to be prepared for this onslaught of kids. Read on...

Register For the Monster Hunt

We have put together a really cool mobile app for kids to download and play while they are trick-or-treating. Using their phones, they can hunt for and collect monsters scattered throughout the neighborhood in the form of printed QR Codes. When you register your house, you can get your own QR code that you can hang on your door, car, tree or anywhere else you'd like. Kids can look forward to seeing if your house has one they can collect as they ring your doorbell. Registering your house is free. The more codes we have around our neighborhood, the more fun the kids will have.

Stockpile As Much Candy As You Can

If we have it our way, the streets will be flooded with costumed kids begging for a sugar rush. If you think you have enough candy, the chances are you really don't. One of our largest challenges is to make sure we don't run out of candy before the sun goes down. When in doubt, buy several extra bags.

If you don't think you'll be participating this year, but still want to help by donating candy, contact us and we will make sure it gets dispursed to all of the houses throughout the neighborhood.

Get Creative and Have Fun!

Halloween is a perfect opportunity to scare the socks off of kids. If you are decorating your house, or making a haunt, consider hiding the QR code somewhere so kids have to search for it as they are experiencing your haunt.

Please be sensitive to scaring kids that are young. Trauma, much?

What if you don't live in this neighborhood but still want to help?

That's okay! We still love you! Contact us and we'll talk.

If you've got something cool to offer a ton of kids, awesome! Whether you paint faces, offer pony rides, have a food truck or offer any other kid-friendly service, we would love to hear from you. Contact us for more information.

If you live within the borders of the colored area on the map below, we really hope you'll register your house and help us make this a Halloween to remember!
